Bruny Island is a great destination for a day trip from Hobart. It is only accessible by ferry, but you can go with your own car.

You will be stunned by Bruny Island’s beauty of nature. Also keep your eyes open for the rare albino wallabies, they are often seen around Adventure Bay. Check our Instagram video about our favorite animal encounters in Tasmania!

PICKING TIP

We recommend to do a day trip from Hobart.
After the ferry ride, visit the Neck Game Reserve lookout
Then do a hike, we especially liked the Fluted Cape Walk, and maybe see an albino wallaby
To finish off the day we recommend to have a cheese platter at the cheese company on the island or grab yourself some drive-through oysters. Be careful of the closing times though!
