Cataract Gorge Reserve is a natural formation with a beautiful landscape on the South Esk River. At the reserve you can go hiking through the forest or along the river with its majestic stone formations. Or you can go swimming in the river basin or swimming pool, go for a ride on the chair left, eat the restaurant or drink at the cafes. It has a rich history since the late 19th century where even then visitors already came to this reserve. The reserve is a walking-distance from the city center of Launceston.
