Paronella is a small charming private park with old buildings, a museum and waterfalls which opened in 1935. Jose Paronella from Spain moved to Queensland, bought some land and opened this park – throughout the time he added more buildings and modern facilities such as electricity, a tennis court, cinema etc. Nowadays the park is still open to the public where you can learn more about the history and see the remains of the park. It was unfortunately often destroyed and rebuilt after heavy floodings.

PICKING TIP

We loved the park and its history. There are good photo opportunities. The entrance fee is a bit pricy with 55AUD per person.

For campers: When you visit Paronella Park you can stay one night for free on their camping ground.
