That Wanaka Tree is one of the most photographed trees in New Zealand. It is also known as the Wanaka Willow and is a willow tree which is located in the Wanaka Lake close to the shore. A New Zealand photographer named Dennis Reidermann photographed this tree and won the 2014 New Zealand Geographic photograph of the year. Since then the fame grew mostly especially on instagram. Every day and nearly every hour the picture of the tree will be different because of the changing weather and lightning. You will notice many people being around the tree when walking to the lake, so you won’t miss it.
