The Barn Cabins & Camp

Convenient location when visiting Abel Tasman National Park

GOLD
New Zealand, South Island
Accommodations
2-3 nights

This beautiful camping ground located right next to the entrance of the Abel Tasman National Park was our favorite camping ground we stayed at in New Zealand.

The Barn Cabins & Camp stands out for several reasons. Firstly, its unparalleled natural setting, surrounded by lush greenery and majestic mountains, provides a breathtaking backdrop for outdoor enthusiasts. The diverse accommodation options, including charming cabins and well-equipped campsites, cater to various preferences. Committed to sustainability, the camp also minimizes its ecological impact.

PICKING TIP

  • Spend 2 nights here (or even longer if you are a slow traveler)
  • Watch out for sneaky wekas (flightless birds native to New Zealand) which are naturally very curious and love to steal food and items around the camping area. Our neighboor had his spoon stolen by a weka.
  • Bring insect repellent, there are sandflies (tiny biting insects) prevalent in Abel Tasman National Park, particularly in coastal and bushy areas.
