Habitat Noosa

Amazing camping ground in the middle of the nature

1-3 nights

Habitat Noosa camping ground, nestled in Australia's Noosa National Park, offers a unique, eco-friendly experience amid diverse wildlife.

Close to the Noosa Everglades and directly at Lake Cootharaba you can easily spend many nights at this camping ground. It was also awarded “Australias Best New Tourism Business”.

PICKING TIP

  • Book well in advance!
  • The last road section to the camp is really bumpy, drive carefully.
  • Go on a kayaking adventure in the Noosa Everglades with Everglades Eco Safaris River Cruise Noosa

Eungella National Park Camping Site

Best camping ground when staying in the Eungella National Park

GOLD
Australia, Queensland
Accommodations
1-2 nights

This is one of a few camping grounds in the Eungella National Park with only 8 spots. It is perfectly located close to the visitor center and the river. We actually spotted a platypus directly from our campervan site.

PICKING TIP

It’s very cheap and you can book easily online in advance (check the website link, the name of the camping ground is Broken River Camping Area).

Be aware that there are no-flush toilets. There is a shared fire pit to spend a cozy evening snuggled up by the camp fire. Bring marshmallows!

Cape Hillsborough Nature Tourist Park

Best camping ground when visiting the Cape Hillsborough National Park

GOLD
Australia, Queensland
Accommodations
1 night

This camping ground is directly located at the beach and inside of the Cape Hillsborough National Park on the East Coast of Australia.

It gives you the perfect opportunity to visit the national park and you don’t need to walk far at 5am to the beach to see the feeding of wild kangaroos and wallabies.

The park also provides access to a network of bushwalking trails. We recommend you to hike the coastal trek starting from the camping ground. (Check the tide first)

The facilities were also okay.

PICKING TIP

  • Keep your eyes open for Chrissi's favorite bird, the Blue Winged Kookaburra which may try to steal your food.
  • Stay 1-2 nights on your way from Cairns to Brisbane or the other way around (like we did).
  • Book your camping spot in advance
  • Bring insect repellent against sandflies

SILVER
Australia, Queensland

1 night

This camping ground is provided by the state and provides wood fire barbecues, picnic tables, shelter sheds, water (not suitable for drinking) and a cold water shower. It’s remotely located in the heart of the Girringun National Park.

PICKING TIP

Stay for one night during your drive up North / down South to visit the Wallaman Falls.

We also recommend you to not only stay at the lookout platform but hike down to the base of the Wallaman Falls!

Safari Lodge and Campground

Best camping ground when staying at Cape Tribulation

GOLD
Australia, Queensland
Accommodations
1-3 nights

Maybe the best camping ground if you are staying in Cape Tribulation. You are staying in the middle of the jungle, have a pool and nice clean facilities. The beach is also very close by but it is not suitable for swimming because you are in a salt water crocodile area.

PICKING TIP

We can highly recommend to eat at the Turtle Rock Cafe which is directly located at the reception. They are also offering cool Great Barrier Reef snorkeling tours.
