Grindelwald is a small town built in the style of a Swiss village and is named after an actual Swiss village with the same name. Roelf Vos, a Dutch immigrant to Tasmania and former owner of a larger regional supermarket chain, built this village for his wife. Nowadays, you can visit for free the village and can go on boat ride on the artificial lake, visit the local Swiss style bakery and buy various Swiss style souvenirs. There is also a hotel where you can stay in.
