Visiting Gwalia, once a thriving gold mining town, allows you to step back in time and appreciate the challenges faced by the early gold miners.

In 1963 the Sons of Gwalia gold mine which is next to Gwalia abruptly shut down, it made the whole town lose their job. Over night many residents left and Gwalia became an abandoned town.

Nowadays it is one of the most popular ghost towns of the Golden Outback.

Wander through the deserted streets and explore the remaining structures, including old homes, the mine manager's house, and remnants of the Sons of Gwalia Mine.
